Meaning
Oh AmbA! When I address you as
“my mother”, why is it that you will not respond and converse with me?
Oh mother mInAkSi! Is it fair
on your part? I do not have anyone else except you!
Oh! The one who is
worshiped by the lotus-born (Brahma), hari (ViSNu), and hara (Shiva), oh the
delicate one! I firmly believe in your lotus feet, I believe, oh kAtyAyani,
kALika, bhavAni, the goddess of the universe, the consort of Lord
SundarEshvara, bAlAmba, one with a sweet speech! Please show mercy on me.
You remove the sins committed
by those who salute you, Oh mother! one with dark tresses of hair, the one who
destoyed the host of demons, you are the one with lotus-like eyes, one with a
moon-like face, the one who bestows all boons, Oh Ba”ngAru Bomma, I always
seek your refuge.
Of the one who grants plenty
of boons, please allay my fears and offer me protection. Oh the one who
generously showers prosperity, Oh Ambika, won’t you show mercy on your beloved
son? Are you not the one who is crowned with titles like the mother of the
universe, the one who protects the helpless, and so on? You are the most
celebrated one as the sister of Lord shyAma k.rSNa, and the brave
Tripurasundari!
