Meaning
Oh Lalita, the
(wish-yielding) creeper kalpaka for your devotees, please come quickly
and protect me. I have placed my unflinching faith in you.
Oh mother! Other than you,
there is no one whom I can resort to, in protecting me expeditiously.
Oh the omnipotent one, whose
feet are worshiped by the dEvas, please do not be unsympathetic to me, and
please show me your grace. Can’t you hear my prayers? I am your true
devotee. Please, do not be unsympathetic towards me. Please protect me.
Your glories are praised by
Brahma, ViSNu and Shiva , and Indra, you are the ancient, you are the queen
worshipped by Sarasvati and LakSmi, You are the beloved of Shiva, who is
adorned with serpents.
I have been singing the
praises and the tales of arrogant and the wicked ones. Please bestow on me
all your graces, and put an end to my agony.
Oh the one who is seated in
the center of mount mEru, the sister of Lord shyAma k.rSNa, oh the youthful
KaumAri, UmA, mInAkSi, sha”nkari, the great queen, this is the most
appropriate time for you to protect me.
