| T N Krishnan was born at Parur to Narayana Iyer, a senior violinist. Krishnan first learnt from his father and then polished his art further from the stalwart Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. He has accompanied veterans like Ariyakkudi Ramanuja Iyengar, Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer, G N Balasubramanyam, Madurai Mani Iyer and the like. His playing has a unique flair and flourish, with a classical bent. His deceptively simple style, which represents the essence of music, still mesmerizes music lovers all over the globe. He also served as a Professor of music at the University of Delhi. |
