CARNATICA STUDENTS BAG THE SAPTASWARANGAL PRIZES

The students of Carnatica's Gurukulam have brought glory to the music school once again! Hardly a couple of weeks ago, they were part of the glorious Independence Day March at Chennai. This time, it is the popular TV music contest, Saptaswarangal, hosted by Sun TV.

V Mathura, V Mayura, R Sarayu and R Nivedita have bagged the prizes in this round of the contest. While Mathura bagged the first prize in the 'Above 15' category, Mayura and Sarayu were tied at the second spot. The twins Mathura and Mayura are under the tutelage of Chitravina Ganesh, while Sarayu, a collegiate, is a student of S Sowmya. All three of them exhibit talent of a high order.

In the 'Below 15' category, 11-year old Nivedita came out on top along with 5 other children who sang with her. Studying in Class VI at the PSBB, KK Nagar, Nivedita shows promise of a very bright future. She has received training from S Sowmya, K N Shashikiran and Chitravina Ganesh.

The Gurukulam was started last year and has so far evoked tremendous response. The faculty comprises the popular young professionals, S Sowmya, K N Shashikiran and Chitravina Ganesh among others. Currently there are over 200 students learning under this system, thanks to the sustained efforts of the Carnatica staff and the dedication of the students and their parents.

Carnatica congratulates these children on their excellent performance and wishes them the best for a musical future!
