| Born at Rajamannargudi, the vocalist-pedagogue R Vedavalli is the worthy disciple of stalwarts like Madurai Srirangam Iyengar and Mudicondan Venkatarama Iyer. She also had the added privilege of learning select Padams and Javalis from T Mukta. Known for her sizeable repertoire and scholarly approach to music, Vedavalli has also carved a niche for herself as a great guru. It is no wonder that she is the recipient of several honours and awards. |
