He was also known for his highly cultured approach to life in general. He added value as the Principal of institutions like the Annamalai University and the Central College of Carnatic music. Songs like Entavedu (Saraswatimanohari) and Kanrin kuralai kettu (Mukhari) acquired a special sheen in his hands.
