Meaning
Oh Devi! Other than your lotus feet, there
is nothing else on the earth for me to take shelter in.
Oh shrI mInAkSamma, the Goddess in the form
of supreme knowledge, the one who delights in the prosperous city of Madhura.
From the days of yore, are you not renowned
for protecting the helpless? The sovereign of the world, my mother! Who else
is a repository of compassion for me in this world? You, the one who delights
in fresh betal leaves, please quickly grace me with your glances.
This is the most appropriate time for you to protect me and remove my
anxieties.
You are like a peacock in the Kadamba
forest. You are ambA, sha”nkari, the one who subdues the demons like caNDa,
you are m.rDAni, you hold a parrot in your hand, you are auspicious kalyANi,
Is it not true that those who constantly meditate upon you acquire your
everlasting blessing? You are the consort of Lord sadAshiva, you are
established in consciousness and bliss. You have sweet speech.
Oh UmA, ramA, the one worshiped by
shyAmak.rSNa, the daughter of the mountain, kaumAri, is there anyone equal to
you? Is it such a difficult task for you to protect me? Oh omnipresent
mInAKSi, is it fair on your part to delay this simple request? Why this play?
I have been blessed to the vision of your feet. I have come to you to hear
your speech.
