Dear fellow rasikas,

Carnatica is happy to announce "SAMARPANAM", a mini music festival from Dec. 1 - 7, 2006 featuring senior, reputed artistes. I can safely say that most serious music lovers would treat this as a "DO NOT MISS" event!

I will post more details soon, but here are a few highlights:
* RK Srikantan with Umayalpuram Sivaraman (Dec. 4th)
* Manakkal Rangarajan with M Chandrasekaran and Vellore Ramabhadran (Dec. 1st)
* OS Tyagarajan (Dec. 2nd)
* Alleppey Venkatesan (Dec. 3rd)
* TN Krishnan & Viji Krishnan (Dec. 5th)
* Rama Ravi (Dec. 6th)
* Suguna Purushottaman & Suguna Varadachari (Duet) (Dec. 7th)

Venue will be the Tattvaloka Auditorium on Eldams Road. The festival is dedicated to 108 legendary artistes. There will also be multimedia presentations on past masters, picture exhibits, clips from vintage recordings, panel discussions on weekends and so on.... Watch this space for more details!

Carnatica is also pleased to announce that the following albums will be released during the course of this festival:

* Manakkal S. Rangarajan - Excerpts from live concerts
* Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar - Live concert recording with TN Krishnan & Palghat Mani Iyer
* Alleppey P. Venkatesan - Live concert recording, 1999

Rasikas can also look forward to a bunch of other releases from Carnatica over the course of the December music season in Chennai. There will be a mix of vintage live concerts of legenary artistes and recordings of popular stars. Stay tuned!
