Percussive Arts Centre (Regd),Bangalore presents
"Saalankritha Simhanandana" on 27th September 2008, at Mangala Mantapa, Bangalore.
The stage is all set to enthrall classical music lovers and connoisseurs with a feast of a special Raga-Thana-Pallavi concert in Simhanandana Tala, a rare and the longest tala enlisted in Classical texts of Karnataka Music. With 128 beats per rhythmic cycle (avartha) this tala is rarely used on concert stage. This tala has not been adopted to classical music concerts as frequently for it demands a mastery over laya and undeterred composure during performance.
19-year-old
Vinay Sharva from Bangalore will be performing this rare fete on stage. He has been learning classical music under veteran vocalist Vid.S.Shankar for the past 13 years. He will be supported by
Vid.Charulatha Ramanujam on Violin,
Vid.Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma on Mridangam and
Vid.G.Guruprasanna on Khanjira.
Percussive Arts Centre extends a warm welcome to all musicians and connoisseurs.
