URGENT
UPDATE ON KUTHIRAMALIKA CONCERTS 2006
The tragic and
fatal accident to Shri. R. R. Varma, a member of the Travancore Family on 30th
December 2005 has necessitated the switching of the Saraswathi Veena concert
by Prince Rama Varma scheduled for the 7th January 2006 to the 11th January.
Pandit Veerabhadriah Hiremath & Party kindly agreed to render Hindustani
compositions of Maharaja Swathi Tirunal on 7th January instead of the 11th.
The organizers are grateful to the artists including accompanists for the
consideration and the lovers of music for their understanding.
The schedule for the Swathi Tirunal Sangeethotsavam 2006
is given below. This festival, exclusively dedicated to compositions of
Maharaja Swathi Tirunal is held every year in January, at the Kuthiramalika
Palace, in Thiruvananthapuram, built by the Maharaja himself, over 160 years
ago. See below for the schedule and the invitation extended by the organizing
committee.
