NOBLE GESTURE BY SANJAY SUBRAHMANYAN
    
Sanjay Subrahmanyan's presence of mind and timely decision during his concert at the Music Academy last night deserves appreciation from the music community. Thanks to his quick action, veteran mridangist T K Murthy, who unfortunately experienced some uneasiness on stage, received immediate attention.

Unmindful of the several rasikas who attented his performance, Sanjay decided to wind up the concert soon after the main item, with a Tiruppugazh and the mangalam. It was a good gesture that he himself took care to rush vidwan T K Murthy to a nearby hospital and was there to ensure his safety.

Carnatica, along with the music community, while thanking Sanjay, prays for the health and speedy recovery of one of the all-time great mridangists.
