Dear members and rasikas,

In the past several weeks, Carnatica has undergone many changes. Our portal will now be hosted by a Chennai-based company, Focus Infotech, which will also provide technical assistance.

During the transfer of material from the old server to the new server, some of the sections like Cyber Vidyalaya, Arcade, Club and Carnatica Products were disabled. Several people expressed their concern about the portal, and we take this opportunity to thank those people for their genuine interest in Carnatica. We also apologise for the inconvenience caused to members and customers. The transfer of the Rasika Forum had its own complications. We will however be back with a facelift pretty soon.

We have already begun the mammoth task of going through the entire portal, page by page, section by section. During this process, we are simultaneously going to work on making the portal more navigable and user-friendly.

We welcome your feedback and suggestions about how we can make Carnatica a nicer place for you to visit. Please mail us back and tell us what you think should be done in order to achieve this.

Before I sign off, here is some good news for US-based members and customers. We have now registered our organisation in the US too, with bases in Chicago (Ramanathan Narayanan: 630 788 1078), Bay Area (Ramesh Srinivasan: 408 528 7946) and San Diego (Kiranavali Vidyasankar: 619 275 2150). Products and services will be available locally henceforth. We are also on the verge of creating a huge audio library in the US as also a Gurukulam and contact programmes for Cyber Vidyalaya students here. Carnatica will also coordinate events along with other local organisations, which will include workshops by senior musicians. On the cards is a tour of vocalist Vijay Siva between September-October this year, and tours of Setalapati Balasubramaiam, S Sowmya, Mysore Brothers (Violin), Carnatica Brothers and P Ganesh (Chitravina) in Spring next year.

As always, we seek your goodwill and support in all our ventures.

Sincerely,
Kiranavali,
Editor, Carnatica
